ALRIGHT!
I've given up on you livejournal, but I'm also bored to death, so something had to cave.
I hate cambridge, I want to be back in Toronto
My resolution is to start writing sketches frequently and for the love of god do/write more standup. I've got a couple of shows lined up for the Beginning of January at the Rivoli (2nd), Betty's (4th) and Yuk Yuks (10th) BUT I should be doing MORE!... plus I haven't written anything new for any of these shows.
Broken Social Scene on the 20th.

I was on a little show called inside Jam... heard of it? Mean either... didn't even bother to watch it...
I have to start looking for an apartment in a matter of months.

|
I've started all of my classes except Physical Comedy, and so far I like all of my teachers. I've heard some bad things from second year students but I haven't encountered anything negative yet.
I'm sick of residence already.

3:30 am - Back to school
|
I couldn't sleep, but now I'm tired. If I go to sleep now I'll only get 4 hours, and I fear I will sleep in. Now I have to stay up, go to class at 9, come back at 12, sleep for 4 hours, go to class, and then go to Yuk Yuks. It's a glorious life I live.
I'm tired.

5:42 pm - Laughter Killer

Yesterday I had a spot at Healey's. It went alright considering the small crowd and having it be all new material. You could say I killed my set on my second last joke, which is about the nazi death camp Auschwitz. I love the joke, but audiences don't seem so keen on it. After telling it and moving on I could hear a girl saying "That was disgusting". I don't think it to be THAT bad of a joke... At least it got an "ohhhhhh" rather than nothing.
I also had orientation with Larry Horowitz today and learned I get free admission to the Toronto Yuk Yuk's everyday except Fri and Sat. I'm also eligible to get on the Humber card starting the second week into September.

10:45 pm - The Aristocrats!
|
Today I saw the Aristocrats, awesome movie. Sometimes a little repetitive but in all a great movie. Sarah Silverman, George Carlon and Gilbert Gottfried were awesome telling the joke, and I have to admit I laughed hardest during Andy Dick's explination of the "Strawberry Shortcake". I would say that one fourth of the audience walked about 10 minutes into the movie (though the movie theatre was pretty small). I guess they came in not knowing what to expect.

9:54 pm - I live in Toronto now

I'm at humber right now, in my dorm room, on my computer. I'm finally here.
In other news, I've started this journal fresh. So if you want to travel back in time to see what I did last year, you're out of luck... plus it was only shitty topical freewrites anyways.
Today I played hermit and stayed in. Everyone else went out to dinner and to play videogames but I wasn't feeling up to it. Instead I stayed right here and wrote. I'm hoping to have at least 10 SOLID minutes at the end of the year. Won't be that hard if I keep writing and get up on stage as much as I can.
Speaking of which, I have a gig at Healey's on Tuesday (special guest host Kristin Von Hagen) and at the Corktown comedy night at Betty's on Wednesday.
I need to buy a calender... I'm going exploring Kipling and Lakeshore tomorrow...
